Question: is it okay if i take ibuprofen and adoxa (doxycycline) in the same night? so i have some pretty bad cramps so i took two ibuprofens..but i also take this other pill for my face (cause i have pretty bad acne...the pill mkes it all disappear :-D) called adoxa which is doxycycline....i was just wondering if that's harmful or anything? ps i have to take both pills at night

Answer: Ibuprofen - anti-inflammatory Doxycycline - antibiotic Not the same class of drugs. Taking them together should not normally cause problems. Be careful not to take more than 3 Gms (3000mg or 15-200mg Advils) of Ibuprofen in any 24-hour period. Both Ibuprofen and Doxycycline should be taken with food - not necessarily a 7-course meal but crackers and juice, toast. . .something. Follow your pharmacist's advice about all medications. AND PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE take ALL of the antibiotic for the length of time and as prescribed by your health care provider: we have WAY TOO MANY mutant bacteria running around now and part of the cause is INCOMPLETE ANTIBIOTIC THERAPY.
