Question: How does asprin help you during a heart attack? I've heard from several people that taking an Asprin while they were having a heart attack saved their lives, but they never told me how it helps save you.. Perhaps one of you can tell me the info. Thanks!

Answer: It doesn't. It reduces the chances of having a heart attack as it thins the blood. Whilst you're having a heart attack, it's too late. You'll be thinking about getting to hospital.

Question: How long after taking asprin can I breastfeed my daughter again? 325 mg. Took the wrong pills, turns out they were asprin. How long till my daughter can nurse again? Do I need to pump and dump?

Answer: I dind't know that aspirin was bad. I guess as long as you are not taking them regularly. I am on blood thinners and my doctor says I can breastfeed. Please do not "pump and dump". Breast milk is too precious. If you are worried, give it a couple hours and try feeding again. Usually anything you ingest will cycle out of your body, just as it will cycle out of your milk.

Question: Has anyone heard of putting a tablet of asprin in with your laundry?? Im watching Home Improvement and its summer help week and Richard Karn is hosting and he said if you put a tablet of asprin with your detergent in the washer it will help clean the stains from your armpits in your shirt. Does this actually work? and if it does, does it matter what type of asprin. Also what other ways is there to get the arm pit stains out of your shirts, besides bleach.

Answer: no no u gotta use a lil bit of bounty and tide. and eww armpits, u know they also make deodorant

Answer: NONE Never give any medication unless directed by your vet. Many human meds are toxic to dogs, or may be toxic in the wrong doses. Asprin is a blood thinner, and would not be good to give to your dog when he has lacerations and holes. If you feel your dog is in pain, then he needs to see a vet. A vet would be a good idea anyways.. your vet can clean the wounds and prescribe an antibiotic to prevent infection.

Question: What are safer alternatives for pain available OTHER than asprin? Im not an overly user of asprin but ive been having cramps lately and asprin is what i have been takin for the pain. I know htat too much asprin can cause internal bleeding, kidney failure, and a lot of other problems. Is there anything LESS harmful that i can use?

Answer: Sure there are. You can try seeing a chiropractor to have soft tissue massage or go to a masseur. You can also try acupuncture or foot reflexology.

Answer: I give my 90lb dog 2-3 baby aspirins for arthritis. I won't use rimadyl. It is toxic to the kidneys. Good marketing can't change that.

Answer: it can take a few hours for your body to start reacting to all of that you said you trew up so I'd say your body is trying to get rid of it but you may have caused some internal damage to your liver. Get checked out.

Answer: Aspirin is contraindicated for some conditions and shouldn't be taken along with certain drugs, so you should not start taking it without consulting your doctor first. When daily aspirin is recommended, it is only a low-dose (basically baby aspirin, although they now sell low-dose aspirin just for this purpose), NOT a regular tablet.

Question: How to stop cramps without taking Asprin? I can not take the kind of tyelenol or asprin that you have to swallow because I can't swallow them without throwing up. I need some good ways to stop cramps. Thank you for your answers.

Answer: For me ... I drink at least 1 liter of water everyday before and during my period ... this really helps. In the past, I use to take Acetaminophen - until I figured out the water thing.

Answer: Any aspirin will do. It is the 325 mg aspirin- NOT BABY ASPIRIN (baby aspirin 81 mg is for prevention) and one tab should be chewed.

Answer: I would call your vet and ask exactly how much to give. I have given my beagles baby aspirin for pain but they much bigger. Aspirin is fine but too much can cause the blood to be too thin and then cause other problems. Just call and double check on the amount.

Cats can be quite stoic when it comes to pain, and as horrible as it sounds, she will endure the pain until you get her to the vet, where they can help ease it with a steroid or some other type of injection. Answer: products that contain asprin like motrin/advil/ibuprofen thin your blood and bleeding is a major risk after a tonsillectomy. there is a high risk of bleeding for the first 3 weeks after there is a lower risk of bleeding for 4-6 weeks after. most drs will tell you to stay away from it for at least 3 weeks and a bit longer than that if you can manage. he can have tylenol as it doesn't contain asprin but we all know tylenol SUCKS for pain.

Answer: Asprin is a blood thinner. When the blood is thinner, it can move around obstructions, such as a clot, easier, thus reducing the chance that the heart muscle itself will be as damaged. All blood clots have cholesterol in them. A blood clot forms from damage to a vessel which then allow all sorts of "junk" such as cholesterol, blood platelets, etc. to stick and start to occulde vessels. A heart attack is a result of blocked arteries in the heart, a stroke, blood vessels in the brain, etc.
