Cervarix

Question: What's the difference between Gardisil and Cervarix? Which one to use on whom and when? As title thanks.

Answer: Gardasil is a quadravalent vaccine that protects against HPV 6,11,16 and 18. That's 2 cancer-linked strains and 2 wart strains. Gardasil is made by Merck. It is licensed for use worldwide. Cervarix is a bivalent vaccine that protects again HPV 16 and 18. These are cancer-causing strains of HPV. Cervarix is made by GlaxoSmithKline. It is licensed for use in the UK, but not in the US yet.
