Lo Ovral
Question: If i take fluconazole and am on lo Ovral will it increase my chances of getting pregnant? what is the percentage rate of getting pregnant while on lo ovral and using fluconazole? how long do i need to use a back up method while on fluconazole? how much will my chances of getting pregnant increase while on lo ovral and fluconazole?
Answer: Fluconazole is the same thing as Diflucan.
No, taking Diflucan/fluconazole will not decrease the effectiveness of your birth control pills. You don't need a "back -up" method because you are taking fluconazole. But, since no method of birth control other than abstinence is 100% you may want to think about using condoms with your pills if you are not already doing so would "back up" your birth control giving you additional protection and peace of mind in preventing pregnancy. Also, your pills do not offer any protection against STD's and condoms do. It never hurts to use a back-up method. Ask your pharmacist and your prescribing doctor if you want to be sure.
Question: Im gonna start take Lo Ovral for birth control, if some of you use it could you help me please? ONLY PEOPLE THAT KNOW ABOUT THIS PLEASE
Ok here is the deal, i havent had sex for quite long time now, im 20 and my bf is coming from another country so we agree that its not the right time to have a baby,he is gonna be here in about 6 or 7 weeks, so how and when should i start taking the pill?? is there anything that i have to know about it? by the way is the first time im gonna take that kind of pills.
Thank you for your help , really apprecciate it.
Answer: I honestly would get a different kind of pill. I have heard of many women getting pregnant on this kind.
If not there should be instructions in the pack. Usually you start taking them on the first day of your period. The first month you are on them, you still need to use back up protection (condom). After that you should be fine. :)
Question: is it safe for a 16 year old to take prenatal vitamins and Lo- ovral? My period came three times in one month so i went to the doctor and she said it was probably because of the steroids i had to take when i had bronchitis. She prescribed me prenatal vitamins and Lo- ovral. do you thinks this is safe
Answer: well if the doctor gave it to u it must be they r the professionals remember lol :)
good luck
Question: Has anyone ever tried Lo-Ovral or anything similar? I asked a question awhile back about birth control pills lowering your sex drive....I called my Dr.'s office again, and they are going to talk to him about switching my pill from Ortho-cyclen (generic version) to a lower estrogen pill. I think maybe Lo-Ovral? Has anyone ever tried this pill? Is everthing pretty much the same besides the hormone levels? Hopefully this will help my sex drive....I want to enjoy my husband!
Answer: This is pretty normal for birth control...I was in your same situation and tried everything to restore it. I switched pills a couple times and gave up, the libido was just not coming back. I then found a natural herbal enhancer that is supposed to increase your sex drive and a couple other things. It's called Hersolution gel, read up about it at herenhancement.com where I saved on it at the time. However it's like an instant libido rush and as I kept using it my sex drive was through the roof and continues to be. The sensation blast is great too, I can't tell you how many times I've had multiple orgasms when before I couldn't even get a single one. Theres also capsules you can take that I've heard are better but I don't like swallowing many pills throughout the day. I was skeptical at first but the return policy was so great that the company was offer. From what I remember you had to try it out for a couple months but then you had time afterwards to return it for a full money back if it didn't work. I didn't have that problem as you can see. Well good luck and I hope this helps.
Question: Lo/Ovral birth control, how many hours later than reg. time can you take it before it counts as a late pill? I took a pill an hour and a half late and a few days after that, I took one an hour late. I was wondering if it counts as a late pill. (Don't worry, I haven't had sex lately.)
Answer: hmm, as a nurse, when giving out meds, you can give them an hour before and an hour after. That's how I take the BC pills. I would count it late after two hours. As long as you take it as soon as you remember, it's ok. If you miss it all together, IE after 24 hours, then that's only ok if you do it two days in a row, after that, you have to wait a week and start a new pack.
In your situation, your fine. Just take them as soon as you remember. I have to set the alarm on my phone to go off daily when I should take it - that's the only way I take them on time.
Question: Has anyone Used Lo-Ovral-28 for birth control and had side effects? If you have taken it or even the generic version which is Cryselle-28.. What side effects occured? My insurance company won't pay for my ortho tri-cyclen lo, which worked wonders for me. Which is ridiculous to me because they paid in full my teen pregnancy without a problem, but when I try to be responsible they won't help me. But thats a different story. I was just wondering the side effects anyone else has had? Please let me know
Answer: I have taken Lo/Ovral in the past and had very few side effects with the medication.
Because you did well with the Ortho-Tricyclen Lo I would recommend asking your doctor if they have samples of the medication. If they don't you can ask your doctor if they would be willing to help you with the insurance to explain to them why this medication works better for you than the other choices that they offer.
Question: Fatigue a side effect of Lo Ovral Birth Control? I started taking Lo Ovral about a month ago, and have been feeling completely exhausted every day. I've always had a pretty high energy level, but I literally feel like I'm going to fall asleep at my desk once noon hits, and I'm pretty much useless until I go to bed. Has anyone had this side effect with Lo Ovral? If so, is it something that should go away after a month or two, or should I switch to a different brand?
Answer: I had the same problem on the pill, and it never went away. I would try another kind. Good luck :-)
Question: My girlfriend is on LO/ovral 28 she started it 6 days ago on Sunday. Help? She started it 6 days ago. How much time should she wait before she has unprotected sex?
Answer: when my doctor put me on birth control she told me to keep using condoms for the first month because it is not fully effective right away
Question: Is Lo/Ovral birth control pill strong enough to have uprotected sex with? I just started taking it a few days ago, and initially I told my doctor I wanted it for my skin but now I want to know if it will be strong enough that my partner cannot get me pregnant if we go without protection after a certain amount of time? And if it is strong enough, how much time should we wait?
Answer: Lo-dose B.C pills are just as effective as "regular" dosed pills. The only reason they are low is because the FDA found that women do not need such a high dose of horomones to prevent pregnancy.
If you started the pill on the first day of your period, you are supposedly immediately protected when your period ends.
If you started the sunday after your period, the pill is effective 7 days after you started taking it.
The only way the pill is most effective is if its taken every day. Even though you're on the pill, I think waiting a few weeks to have unprotected sex would be the safest way. I just started the pill as well, and needless to say i'm still a little leary! lol.
Question: What was your experience with Lo/Ovral? Anyone take it before? Do you like it? dislike it? My doctor determined that it was my old birth control that was making me sick and that the levels weren't working for me anymore. So she switched me from Ortho Tri-Cylclen Lo (which i've been on for almost 2 1/2 years), to Lo Ovral. I've never heard of this one. Any feedback / personal experiences would be great. thanks
Answer: Yes, I have taken Lo/Ovral in the past and had pretty good results with it when it came to keeping the periods under control. Because of other medical problems such as endometriosis I have to keep from having periods now so for my purpose the Lo/Ovral wasn't good but if I do have go back to having periods I would go back on the Lo/Ovral because it made my periods less painful.
Question: What are some of your side effects while on Lo Ovral? My doctor just started me on Lo ovral and this will be my first time sticking to "the pill", I tried a different pill years ago but it made me sick to my stomach everyday this one is supppose to be better on my stomach, but I also want to know some other side effects from real women experiences on Lo Ovral not whats said on this piece of paper.
Answer: yeast infections...stop using it its horrible...try another pill also i got stomach pain....i hate it
Question: I had to skip last month on my period. Am on Lo/Ovral. I have been bleeding for days, help.? I am currently on Lo/Ovral. I had to skip my period last month for my pap test. I did not take my non-active pills. I am taking a new pack, and which starts on the white pills. I had sex last sunday, and started bleeding last monday. I am still bleeding. It has been 7 days, and it can't be my period. What is going on? I am on my white pills right now. I took a pregnancy test and it said not pregnant. help.
Answer: What you're experiencing is very common...its called breakthrough bleeding and is one of the pitfalls of skipping the placebo week. It may stretch on for another day or two, or you may spot for the rest of the month. There's really nothing to be done about it unfortunately.
You could contact your doctor, but chances are he/she will tell you exactly what I just said. Sorry.
Question: Does anyone use Lo ovral birth control? My gyno. just switched me from Lessina to Lo Ovral..does everyone who uses it like it. What were some of the side effects you had?
Answer: I've used it for years because I get headaches with everything else. I don't have any side effects.
Question: While on Lo Ovral, when does you period suppose to start, before or after the pink/last 7day pills?
Answer: It is supposed to start sometime after the 21st day, so sometime during the time you are taking the pink pills.
Question: Im on Lo/ovral and I hadnt recevied my period, i took a test and and came out negative. Can the test be wrong? I been spotting for 2 weeks and now i am soppose to get my period and I still havnet receved it.
i took the test and it was negative. Could there be something wrong with me?or the test?
Answer: The tests can always be wrong, but it's not extremely likely. You should see a doctor or just wait it out. Birth control screws you up.
Question: Birth Control Pills: Side effects on Lo-Ovral (Low Ogestrel)? I'm just starting a new birth control pill (Lo-Ovral, which also has generic equivalent Low Ogestrel) and I am wondering what side effects other women have experienced on either of these pills. Thanks so much for your help!
Answer: There are several side effects to all oral contraceptives, but it is unlikely one person would experience all of them. It is nice to know what they are, though, in order to compare anything you might be feeling after starting the pill with the list. Here is a general list for you:
1)irregular vaginal bleeding (usually spotting in between periods)
2)fluid retention
3)melasma (spotty darkening of the skin, usually the face)
4)change in appetite
5)headache, nervousness, depression
6)dizziness
7)cramping
If any of these symptoms occur and do not go away or if you're concerned about anything at all, please call your doctor or pharmacist.
Hope this helps!
Question: Lo ovral birth control? I started taking Lo Ovral two sundays ago when I started my period on sunday. This is my first time ever taking it and I am stil bleeding. My period should have been over 5 days ago. Is not heavy but it can be sometimes, or not even there sometimes. Does anyone have any insight as to what is going on, if you have taken lo ovral? Anything at all will help!!! thanks!
Answer: Your body needs to adjust to the hormones. If it continues for another week or se see your doctor but I expect it's a reaction to the new hormones it's dealing with now.
Question: Lo/Ovral and breakthrough bleeding? I started Lo/Ovral recently and this is my second week on it after the other birth control didn't work well. But last night I had breakthrough bleeding it stopped today though. It should last only a day right? and will it come back and when?
Answer: Breakthrough bleeding on the pill such as Lo/Ovral can come and go by starting one day and lasting for a few days and then stop again for a few days. It can also sometimes go on continuously during the whole time that the body s trying to adjust to the medication (I've had this happen to me before especially on other brands of birth control pills).
It can take the body 3 months to fully adjust to the medication.
Another word about breakthrough bleeding when it occurs is that it can get heavy enough to act a lot like a period but isn't.
I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
Question: if there's a different between OVRAL or LO/OVRAL? Can u tell me if there's a different between OVRAL or LO/OVRAL, the thing I were in ovral before and It was working fine with me but now I switch on lo/ovral since the ovral is no longer available in my country pharmacy . I start getting pimples on my face which it never happened 2 me before I suspect on the pills am I right ?
Answer: lo/ovral has less hormones in it.
Question: Can switching from microgestin to lo ovral for a month delay my period? And if so, for how long?
I take microgestin primarily, but was out and the pharmacy did not have my refill done in time, so I took lo ovral for a month (just finished the pack up Saturday) and now no period. I will be going back to microgestin this Sunday. Is it normal to miss my period?
Answer: Yes, the period can be delayed for a short time because of the change in brand of birth control pills. With going back to the Microgestin you should have your period after you finish that new pack but I would recommend checking with your dr as well to see what they say.
