Voltaren Gel
Question: hard back pain anyone know if voltaren gel safe during pregnancy? ism 32 weeks preg i have a back pain in the left side and i cant even use my left leg i asked my doc and i fellow the heating pads ...it didnt work the voltaren gel is apply to the area that hurt its like a cream ....do u think its safe?
Answer: Hi, I am 39 weeks and have a bad back problem and my doctor recomended Voltaren, I used it a few times when the pain was really bad and it does work. I got my husband to give me a back rub with voltaren and then I wrapped myself in a blanket to keep warm. (The gel is a bit cold though, so warm it slightly in your hands first) For me it worked wonders. I hope it does the same for you! Congrats!!
Question: Is there a better Gel on the market than Voltaren Emulgel Analgesic Anti-inflamatory 1% please? I've tried Ibuprofen Gel and Intragel and Deep Heat.
The Voltaren is good, but I could do with something stronger.
Answer: Tiger Balm. it's not a Gel, it's a small jar and comes in red(strong) or white(mild) and is quite expensive, but does last a long time since it's a balm and you only use a small amount, and does heal rather then cover up pain. it's well worth a try. (there are a lot of fake/copy versions of it, if it's cheaper then £3.99 it's a fake)
Edit_
dam there was this excellent one that i got a sample of, cant remember what it was! if i do i'll write it down, it's about £24 for the gel but it's dam good!
Edit_2
it's gone cheaper then when i first saw it, 'joint ace' there are a few diffrent ones, the 'Vitabiotics Jointace Gel Chondroitin + Glucosamine' is the one i used and it was really good. it's cheap on ebay, but in shops it's expensive. there are also tablets or patch's of it.
Question: more pain after using voltaren gel? I have pain in my feet. Doctor told me it can be arthritis. He gave me prescription for voltaren gel. After using it for 2 days Pain is worse. Now all my legs hurt, not only feet. Did anyone have same problem?
Answer: I have a friend who has been using Voltaren Gel and she has not had any problems with it.
It sounds like you might be having a side effect from the product but I would recommend checking with your pharmacist and doctor as well to see what they say.
Question: Has anyone tried VOLTAREN GEL on aches and pains? Does it work for you?
Answer: I have rheumatoid arthritis and use it. I works pretty well for me. It wears off in three hours or so, but you can use it up to four times a day.
Question: question about Voltaren gel for pain? has anyone used it,a new medication for pain that the doctor prescribed for me,any side affects, being it's new I 'm concerned
Answer: Voltaren is one of the few NSAIDS that is used to treat inflammation directly at the site rather than by being taken orally and having to pass through the digestive tract. As such, it can bypass some of the problems associated with NSAIDS, particularly stomach upset. I've used a voltaren patch (marketed as Flector). Although it wasn't useful for my primary problem, which is associated with fractured vertebrae and degenerative disk disease, I have found it to be very effective for other pain, such as muscle strains on my hip caused by sliding and falling in an icy driveway. I didn't experience any side effects, although I did (again that stomach upset) when I took voltaren orally.
Question: I used Voltaren Emugel and I am 4 months pregnant please I need urgent advise? I have been having bad back aches since I have been 3 months pregnant I have been using the Voltaren gel prescribed by my doctor trusting her and not reading the contra indications pamphlet, today my friend told me its terrible for my baby I have used it a few times do you think I could have damaged my baby's heart or urinary tract system I am so stressed.
Answer: No, it's not going to hurt your baby!!! Voltaren pills are contra-indicated during pregnancy NOT Voltaren gel....the gel won't penetrate deep enough to get into your system! Nothing will happen to your baby or to you!!
In my opinion, I don't even think, the gel will help with your back aches. ;-) It won't get to where the pain is.
Maybe try getting massages or ask your doc if it's ok to take ibuprofen, which is not conta-indicated while being pregnant!
Hope, I helped!
Have a nice weekend!
Question: am 32 weeks pregnant and using voltaren rub on gel, is it safe to use?
Answer: I just looked it up and it said that it isn't safe to use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
I think you should go to your doctor to see if they can recommend a safer alternative.
Question: am 32 weeks pregnant and using voltaren rub on gel fir my muscle pain in my knees and legs, is it safe to u?
Answer: Im not familiar with that particular gel but as long as it doesnt have a warning on the package that you shouldn't use it if you are pregnant than it should be safe to use. I used icy hot while I was pregnant and everything was fine. If you are really unsure you should ask your doctor about it.
Question: What are some "natural" ways to make my knee swelling go down? According to the orthopedic, I have soriatic arthritis in my knees, and she gave me Voltaren gel to help the swelling go away, but it's not working. I am also taking Tylenol three times a day, along with doing physical therapy for my legs. None of it is working, so do you have any suggestions for me that might make my legs feel better? Thanks!
Answer: Traditional therapies can help to a great extent. Try out acupuncture which will make swellings go down.
Question: I have swollen knee from a fall whats the quiekest way to reduce the swelling? I have done ice pack and voltaren gel. what else can I do to reduce inflammation and swelling I need to start work monday
Answer: For the first 2 days use elevation.
For the first 12 hours use cold.
Once the swelling has peaked switch to heat.
Use NSAIDs by mouth too. Ibuprofen 200-300mg 3x daily with a large cup of water.

Question: How do i tell my boss i need to move to day shift because of my arthritis? Re: My question:
I know this may sound like a simple question, but the way of constructing the discussion with her is difficult - i don't want to sound helpless, or that i am disabled in some way and thus unable to perform my duties on the job.... What should i say... er - exactly?
I was thinking of something like "request due to medical reasons", but geez that sounds severe!
Background:
I recently discovered i have arthritis (i'm 26/ F). Before this was clearly so, i started working night shift, in a job where i do a lot of typing (and yes, i'm at work now).
Symptomatic issues:
If i am up during the day i have no problems with my hands, but from about 8pm onwards my hands swell up and all my joints (but particuarly my fingers, elbows and hips) become extremely painful and I have difficulty moving them.
Treatment:
Acupuncture works wonders for me, but recently i have been unable to afford treatment. I'm now taking Voltaren (which is okay) and using the Voltaren gel.
The big thing is that i am/ used to be one of the top performers and now my productivity has dropped significantly. It's so frustrating.
Answer: Use the 'request due to medical reasons' it can sound severe but it is a medical reason. I think you worded it best in your Symptomatic Issues.
You do work for her and she pays you = its an even exchange. If she wants the work done well she will compromise and make it a workable situation in order to benefit you both.
Question: what can help to cure/prevent patella tendonitis? i have patella tendonitis, but its only very mild. i have had about a week with no activity however i play basketball very often. it seems to be getting better and i have been icing it frequently and using voltaren gel as reccomended by my doctor. is there anything else that can help heal it and/or prevent it? are there any excercises?
Answer: Tendonitis can be very hard to get rid of if you keep doing the activities that aggravate it. When its something like your knee that includes just moving, doesn't it? What you are doing all sounds good. I would also recommend finding a good sports massage therapist. Tendon's are attached to ligaments and muscles and if one is tight then there is stress on the tendon. Also, the constant up down motion across the patella will irritate it. Take glucosamine sulfate to keep the cartilage in your knee from getting more rough and worn down. There are a lot of herbs that are good for joints and tendons. Also, anti-inflamatory drugs like ibuprofen will help (unfortunately) but always take with food and take them continuously for a few weeks to get ahead of the inflammation, then cut back to low doses. When its bad, take 800 mg 3 times in 24 hours for 2-3 days and then cut down.
Question: work or sleep with less pain? I am off work with a foot injury I use voltaren gel and lidoderm patches. It helps a LOT.
My problem is, I can only use the patch for 12 hours and followed by 12 hours patch-free.
So, what's more important, being able to sleep or being able to go to work, even if it is sleep deprived.
Also if I use the gel I can't wrap my foot up, so i would have to work without anything for pain. Oral stuff makes me sick.
Answer: It's more important to sleep.
Without the rest, your body won't heal, and if you do go to work sleep
deprived you won't be able to perform at your best level, and might even
cause an accident involving yourself or others.
Question: What should I use for my frozen shoulder? i have pain in my shoulder and tried many kinds of back gels and voltaren and nothing is working...
what should i do? or use?
Answer: First of all, have you had your shoulder properly assessed and diagnosed?
Adhesive capsulitis (aka frozen shoulder) is notoriously very painful, and you will probably need to see your GP about getting appropriate pain relief; non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are often helpful in addition to analgesics. Sometimes a heat pack can provide some relief. And you are aware it will resolve in about a year, regardless of any treatment you have?
Good luck :)
Question: Using a cream while pregnant? Am I able to use voltaren gel whilst pregnant I'm nearly 9 weeks. I wanna use it on my foot
Answer: i would strongly reccommend that you DONT..
Ive worked in pharmacy 8 years now and i always tell pregnant woman complaining of aches to use a heat pack...
voltaren is an pain killer..
u can double check with a doctor but thats my advice
Question: how to ease backpain?? any idea??? I'm a 21 year old student and right now i'm in the middle of exam weeks. I have a throbbing backpain at my lower back. its probably due to sitting for long hours. I've tried voltaren gel but it didnt work. how am i supposed to ease the throbbing? what posture should I try when sitting or sleeping? I have a 3 hour examination next week and I dont want to be bothered by the pain when I'm doing exams...Help pleaseee....
Answer: Well, until exams are over there are several things that you can try. While at home you can try alternating ice packs and heat 15 min each on your lower back. Also lay flat on your back with pillows under knees (on the floor is best) and just relax for 30 min., no moving!! Aleve Liquid Gel capsules are great for minor back pain and the naproxin that they contain is usually what a doctor would prescribe for minor/mild back pain.
While you are at class, exams, library, etc. I would suggest that you buy something called Therma Care Heat Wrap, you can find them almost anywhere, They come in different sizes and wrap around you comfortably and provide a mild heat to relax your back muscles for extended periods. There are 2 per box and they are about $6. But worth it. I am a chronic back pain patient and I use them alot if I am away from home.
You could also bring a pillow with you to place between yourself and the back of your chair for a little bit of support.
After exams you should see a doc, just to be sure that your problem is just back strain from long hours. I was diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease when I was 23yrs old, so you can start having problems much younger than you would think. It's much easier if you know earlier, it will save alot of discomfort when your older.
Good Luck on Exams!!!
Question: a smelly question :)....? salicylic acid was added to methanol and no smell was observed...why?
then 5 drops of concentrated salicylic acid was added to the test tube and a smell similar to that of deep heat or voltaren gel (sports injury creams) was observed...why?
Thanks!!
*concentrated sulfuric acid not salicylic acid was added.
Answer: the addition of concentrated sulfuric acid started the esterification reaction (H2SO4 is a catalyst)
and esters are scented
;)
Question: Morgellons and treatments? Hi I was wondering if anyone out there be it a chemist, or Dr or whatever might be able to help me.
I tried a drug called voltaren gel 1% on my skin just to see if it had any effect on morgellons. Well surprisingly it had incredible effects. Immed after applying it little black "whisker" looking hairs started appearing on my skin where lotion applied. at first hundreds came out, but slowed. for a couple of days this was happening, (2 of my friends with morgellons tried also and had tons of similar results, only they had more of a ooze and fiberish lookin stuff comin out..) im interested in the way this drug is used for pain relief and the fact it uses hormones and enzymes to combat pain...could this be a way around bio-film or other edfenses parasites use? why duch dramatic results? Ive tried alot of stuff for morgellons, yes vinegar works, but it fails in comparison to voltaren, any ideas besides morgellons isnt real? thanx
Joe,
I find it really rude how you replied to Nutraslvr's response, silver is a known natural antibiotic. If it works for Morgellons, I dont know. And then your comment about brain fog? Makes me wonder if you really are a Doctor. Brain fog can be due to hypoglycemia, candida overgrowth, chronic fatigue, food reactions, nutrient deficiencies, mineral toxicity, liver, kidney or bowel toxicity, poor oxygenation, structural misalignments, medications, genetics and other causes. these are known medical facts yet you make it sound like if someone says they have that symptom, they must be nuts..you must have been the Doc that just barely passed. remember when MS was thought psychological...keepin your mind closed says to me what kind of Doc you are.
Answer: NutraSilver - please provide documentation that "thousands" of sufferers have had results....bet you can't.
The questioner stated that he has had dramatic results with Voltaren - a quality controlled, pharmaceutical preparation and here you are trying to peddle snake oil.....
Besides - how can you take anyone seriously who talks about "brain fog"??
Question: I dont have insurance i hurt my knee in ct? I hurt my knee 3 years ago on workman com did the MRI Dr said the ligament got stretch cant do anything , just have to do some exercise & take it easy,I was doing 80% better just can't run
anymore. The other day I twisted my knee again, now got a swelling above my knee. it doesn't hurt but cant bent my knee, I have been using ice & wearing the knee pad put some voltaren gel, taking some motrin.I don't think its broken otherwise it would have hurt allot but the swelling is not going down. Answer: You can easily check your minimal health care rates in internet, for example here - healthquotes.awardspace.info
Question: Any doctors in the house? Can you help me figure out what this is please? When I play sports or even walk I have this pain in my ankle, I tore the ligaments around my akillis(dont how to spell the darn word) but nothing can take the pain away, I use voltaren gel and painkillers but that doesnt help >> please help :)
If it helps I am 14 and in the last 6 months I have grown about 6 or 8 inches
Ahh that is great, I think I have tendinitis. Cause nearly all the symptoms they say I have... When I can ill make this the best answer :)
Answer: If you are just ignoring the pain and using the foot like usual that could be the problem, your body feels pain to make you relies something is wrong. The ankle needs time to mend, so keep off your foot for a while and get an ankle brace (about 9$ at walmart). You might need to get your foot examined by a doctor if the pain continues because that might be because of some complications...
Both of these sites are for how to treat torn ankle ligaments and such... I found them quite informative...
